This held the structure very rigid and allowed a range of shelving materials such as texture-finished MDF, real-wood veneers and latterly toughened safety glass. Alphason’s classic AD-Series of audio-visual supports created the first ‘three-glass-shelves and four-poles’ design, which was to stand the test of time and become the ‘standard’ format of basic AV support furniture the world over.

By 2006 this outstanding level of success had attracted a great deal of attention and the company was purchased in this year by Armour Home – the UK’s largest and most respected consumer electronics distributor. The move has seen large scale investment in Alphason’s Lancashire facility and unrivalled investment in design, material technology, marketing and support for Alphason’s comprehensive portfolio of UK retailers.
